Technical Support Centers

EPA has five Technical Support Centers (TSCs) that offer scientific and engineering expertise to contaminated site decision makers within EPA, including remedial project managers and on-scene coordinators.

Tools and Partnerships for Community Revitalization

The Office of Research and Development has teamed up with our Mid-Atlantic Regional Office (EPA Region 3) on a project to advance community revitalization. The program is centered on a suite of science-based tools the Agency has developed that integrate information and data important to community revitalization in ways that facilitate decision-making and strategic planning to advance public health and sustainability.

Science Models, Research Tools, and Publications

EPA Science Models and Research Tools (SMaRT) Search is a searchable inventory of freely available models, tools, and databases from EPA's Office of Research and Development (ORD). Enter your land or materials management term in the search bar to explore resources.

The Agency’s Science Inventory is a searchable database of EPA scientific publications, reports, and presentations.

EPA Research Grants

EPA funds extramural research through its Science to Achieve Results (STAR) program; the People, Prosperity, and the Planet (P3) Program and the Small Business Innovation Research Program. These research programs help to engage top research scientists and students that results in a strong scientific foundation to support the Agency’s mission of protecting human health and the environment.
